South Carolina Callers Association The South Carolina Callers Association was organized January 29, 1972. THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION IS: A. To acquaint the public with the moral and healthful recreational opportunities available in square, round, and folk dancing, and to promote the activity so that it will be easily available for those who desire to participate. B. To act as a clearinghouse for the exchange of information on square dancing and all types of dancing related to it. C. To bring about cooperation among all callers, cuers, teachers, and leaders of dances embraced by the SCCA. D. To provide for the free exchange of dance materials and other useful and helpful information and ideas. E. To maintain a current directory of members. F. To establish a code of ethics and to adhere to this code. G. To cooperate with the South Carolina Square and Round Dance Federation of Dancers and work with this group in the organization and planning of festivals and conventions. H. To encourage the use of guidelines of Callerlab, Roundalab, and other official dance teacher association for dances, embraced by the SCCA.
